Subject           Results of Workshop and Peer Feedback for Project One

Upon receiving feedback from Workshop One, I have concluded I will need to organize and clarify both my cover letter and resume. I will discuss how I’ll meet the employer’s goals and explain why I am the best option. If I fine-tune the organization overall, it will flow better.

Workshop Results

After reviewing my feedback I have noted major changes that need to occur to turn my weaknesses into strengths. If reorganize my cover letter by moving from general to specific, I will provide an easier flow for the reader. I need to explain why I want this specific job at MOCAD and why I am the best candidate. My reader said that I was not clear on these topics and I need to fine-tune this section to appear well balanced. I do a good job of listing why I am qualified and experienced but my education section lacks detail of specific classes that I need to include. I need to include in more detail my responsibilities at the gallery to show how I am prepared to work for an art museum.

Revision Strategies and Procedures

The highest concern while revising my cover letter and resume will be to include why I am the best candidate and how I will meet MOCAD’s goals. I will add this to the cover letter by discussing how I meet their mission statement. Next I will add to my education section classes I have taken such as Fibers Dyeing and Screen Printing, Serigraphy, Oil Painting, Drawing, and Sculpture. This will show I have a large and varied set of skills stretching across multiple mediums. Next I will add to my Experience section detailed descriptions of the work I do at the gallery such as spackling, sanding, painting, measuring, hanging, spacing, etc. I have recently been promoted to Social Media and Marketing Manager, which I need to add to my experiences as well as describe my responsibilities that come along with the job. Once I have added all I have need to, I will go through and take out or reword everything that seems repetitive or unnecessary. I will reorganize each section on its on, and once again as a whole. I need to have a clear voice throughout and I will achieve this with strict organization. I feel it is necessary to reorganize once everything that is a necessity has been included. I do not feel that it is the least important concern but I do feel that it is the last procedure that needs to be done.

With a strong pot of coffee and a few hours in the office, I will revise my application to show why I am the best choice.
