Dear Professor Grogan,

I am looking forward to learning and strengthening my writing.  In my field of study, formal technological writing is vital in showing and presenting persuasive research and findings.  A major in biological sciences and eventually getting into medical school is what I am striving for her at Wayne State University. Biology uses writing in forms of lab reports and other medical presentations.

I have strengths and unfortunately some weaknesses in my writing. My strengths in writing are organization and format. When I am given a precise format with strict guidelines, I am able to focus my writing on a specific topic very well. My ideas will flow from paragraph to paragraph very smoothly and affectively.  On the other hand, some weaknesses that are present in my writing are proper citations and some grammar and spelling mistakes. For every type of writing, there is a specific type of way to cite a specific source. I occasionally have trouble determining how to properly in-text a certain source.  My grammar and spelling mistakes are not frequent, but they are present at times.  These mistakes are not ruthlessly and carelessly made, they are just honest writing mistakes that can be improved by repetition and understanding of each grammar and spelling errors.

Things that I have to offer to this class include: an open mind, an avid learner,  and person that is wiling to help others. My ideas, and so are the ideas of my peers are vital in making sure that this class is a good learning experience for all. Ideas will be exchanged and peoples writing will eventually improve collectively. I hope this class is a good writing experience

Sincerely,

Aiman Alqaatabi
